Five persons were killed by suspected ULFA (Independent) gunmen at Kherbari village, Assam. Youths were reportedly sitting out side a shop near Sadiya town when the cadres of the proscribed outfit picked them up and took them to the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Suspect militants lined the youth and shot one by one.

Youths were later identified as Subal Das, Shyamol Biswas, Abinash Biswas, Ananta Biswas and Dhananjoy Namasudra. Incident took place st 20.55 near Dhola Sadiya. All of them belongs to hindu bengali.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condemned the incident and asked the chief officer to investigate on this issue.

On October 13 ULFA group carried out a blast attack and warned attacks will happen if NDA government did not withdraw the bill immediately.

ULFA – United Liberation Front of Assam in a official statement denied that ULFA was not involved in the attack happened on 1 st November
