Prime Minister Modi launched Pradhana Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) for the farmers during the Election campaign which had been held at the Fertiliser Corporation of India ground at Gorakhpur(UP). The first instalment of Rs.2000 have been transferred to over one crore farmers in India. Also, Modi added that the left out beneficiaries will get their first instalment soon. This scheme has been started from the period of 1st December of 2018 onwards which are monitored by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers welfare under the Ministry of Agriculture & farmer welfare.
The scheme is providing totally Rs.6000 (Rs.2000 per installment) in three installments for the farmer who have cultivation land of up to 2 Hectares. The beneficiaries whose seeded their Aadhar number alone will mandatory for claiming this scheme. The beneficiaries will get their installments Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) to farmer account in order to promote Digital India.
- Three equal installments of Rs 2000 each will be transferred directly to small & marginal farmers bank account.
- by definition, a farmer family will comprise of husband, wife and minor children.
- Eligible farmers are being selected by the state government.
- The first installment will be effect from 1st December 2018
- Entire Expenditure of the scheme is borne by the Government of India.
- Helps in meeting needs of the farmer.
- Will free farmer from the clutches of moneylenders.
The following families of farmers are not eligible for PMKISAN scheme, The farmer families who and belongs to government jobs, professionals and pension person who draw Rs.10000 or more are exempted to avail this scheme. With this professional person like Doctor, Engineers, and so on are also not eligible for claiming this scheme. Retired or Present MPs/MLAs, Chairperson of Municipality and Panchayat are not eligible to claim this scheme.
To apply for PMKISAN scheme, the farmer needs to have Aadhar card else the scheme won’t be possible. not only this scheme but the lot of PM scheme Aadhar also made as mandatory one.
What the farmer can do with Rs.6000 per year, due to the huge rise in day to day need of farming equipment and fertilizer? After doing the calculation, approximately Rs.16 per day given to farmers by this scheme PMKISAN which are not even sufficient for any purpose. Then how come the farmers can utilize this money ineffective way for Agriculture purpose or farmer own need.
