The NIA has taken eight days of detention of 16 persons from the Ansarullah Organization, which had planned to attack Tamil Nadu with terrorist organizations. Officers took them to their homes and are investigating.
The Ansarullah terrorist organization is associated with terrorist organizations including S, Al Qaeda and Simi. In the UAE, 14 people from the banned organization were found in Dubai and arrested by the police there last year.
The 14-year-old Tamil Nadu detainee was detained for six months at the Delhi airport and detained by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Following their investigation, two persons were arrested in Nagapattinam and 16 others were detained at Puzhal Jail.
In this case, 16 persons have been taken into custody and given permission to go to the Poonthamalli Special Court for 8 days.
Subsequently, the arrested persons were taken to their homes in Chennai, Madurai, Theni and Nellai. Authorities are conducting raids. NIA officials are conducting raids on their homes as five of the arrested are from Ramanathapuram.
The NIA said that they were engaged in fundraising for the terrorist organization while in Dubai and were involved in brainwashing of young people. Officials said on the ground. They are due to appear before a judge after the hearing.
