Three girls from Sellur, who went missing on Thursday afternoon, were rescued at Nagapattinam on Thursday night.

Madurai city police, who rushed to Nagapattinam, brought them to the city on Friday. Police said the girls, studying 6th standard in a city school, had boarded a bus on Thursday evening. One of the girls had taken Rs. 1.20 lakh from her house.

The panic-stricken parents lodged a complaint with the Sellur police. Meanwhile the conductor of the bus, in which the girls travelled, got suspicious about the girls and handed them over to the the police at Nagapattinam.

A police source said that the mother of one of the girls was living in Nagapattinam and the girl, brought up by her father in Madurai, wanted to meet her mother. The girls, along with the money, were handed over to their parents.
