He reached Ladakh earlier today and given a joint briefing to the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and the India-Tibetan Border Police at Nimu. He’ll also interact with soldiers. Prime Minister’s visit would be a morale booster for the Indian Army and a powerful message to China, which has shown unrelenting aggression at the border with incursions spotted in satellite images.
Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief MM Naravane accompanied the PM as he toured the region, met with soldiers and was briefed on the face-off with China since early May.

India’s decision to ban Chinese apps seems to be an effective way to impose costs on China for its actions at the border. Ministry of Information and Technology banned 59 Chinese Apps, TikTok, ShareiT, CamScanner, and UC Browser, for engaging in “activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order”.The ban also comes in the backdrop of the current stand-off along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh with Chinese troops.
