Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, who sent an SOS appeal to the people of New Delhi after violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University, has thanked her fans and followers for their prompt response.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress took to Instagram sharing a video of large number of people, who gathered outside JNU after her SOS appeal, informed that her mother was safe, the university was at peace and the gates were open for now.
Swara’s mother Ira Bhaskar is a professor of cinema studies in JNU in Delhi, where violence broke out on Sunday evening. Some masked miscreants entered the university campus and attacked students as well as teachers.
She took Instagram and sent an ‘URGENT SOS appeal’. “Urgent appeal!!!! To all Delhiites PLS gather in large numbers outside the Main Gate of JNU campus on Baba Gangnath Marg.. to pressure the govt. & #DelhiPolice to stop the rampage by alleged ABVP masked goons on JNU campus. PLS PLS share to everyone in Delhi!”
Later, she said “My mom is safe. JNU is peaceful for now and the gates are open! BIGGEST and Most HEARTFELT thanks to everyone who reached out today with concern and wishes.”
