A fire broke out in the South Mumbai Crawford Market area on Thursday evening. View of smoke indicated the fire incident happened in Crawford market in most of the building cause the Fire still remains unknown. More than 10 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot within minutes of the breakout.

Breakout was expected to happen exactly in the evening immediately fire brigades reached the spot. 4 alleys half the market are covered by fire. Firefighter extinguish the fire and they had a lot of success in the beginning but unfortunately, around 15 shops were damaged.

The market area was heavily crowded during the fire breakout. As per the BMC official, it was a level 2 fire and fire engines have been rushed to the spot immediately after a call about the place market when received at 6:15 p.m.

The fire consumed around the loft of 2 to 3 galas. With heavy smoke being reported in the market. So far no deaths were recorded as per the officials statement.
