Enforcement department summons to former Union minister P Chidambaram

The Enforcement Department has sent former Union Minister P Chidambaram to attend an inquiry into the corruption scandal involving Air India. During the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance regime, Air India has been accused of incurring billions of crores of rupees on air routes and time allocations in favor of international airlines.

Enforcement officials are already investigating former Air Transport Minister Prabul Patel’s account of the scam.

Chidambaram receives summon over Air India issue

Senior Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram has been summoned by the police to attend the hearing on April 23 in Delhi.

It is noteworthy that enforcement authorities are investigating the case of illegal money laundering in the cases of Aircel Maxis and INX Media.
