New Delhi: With days left for the much crucial Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled to be held on February 8, ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is most likely to introduce new faces in the candidate list and is also planning not to give tickets to some of the sitting MLAs, party sources said. According to reports, Atishi Marlena is set to contest the Assembly polls from Kalkaji seat whereas as Raghav Chadha might fight from Rajinder Nagar seat.
The list is likely to be announced before Thursday, an AAP leader told news agency IANS adding it can also happen before that. The AAP had evaluated the performance of its sitting MLAs, ahead of redistributing the tickets for the February 8 Assembly polls.
“We conducted a performance survey of each MLA on various levels. The survey is almost done,” a party leader told the news agency on the condition of anonymity. The surveys, according to the leader, was done on the MLA’s performance, popularity, feedback from workers and image.
“It is very important to know what people are thinking about the leader. We have decided not to repeat the face, if the leader has not worked or had a bad image,” a party leader said adding that the list is almost ready and the party can release it anytime.

The leader also informed that party is simultaneously also holding a survey for potential new faces. “Another survey is being done where the image of the new faces or the replacements had also been done,” he said.
While Anil Kumar Bajpai, Col. Devinder Sehrawat and Kapil Mishra were disqualified for their association with the BJP, Sandeep Kumar was disqualified for having connections with BSP and Alka Lamba was disqualified after she joined the Congress.
On the speculations of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal contesting from two seats in Delhi Assembly elections, the said clarified that he will contest from one seat – New Delhi Assembly constituency.
The party is also likely to use some of the names from seven of its Lok Sabha candidates. When asked, the leader said it will be revealed when the time is right. Several Congressmen have joined the AAP in recent times, including Shoaib Iqbal, Vinay Mishra, Ram Singh Netaji and Prahlad Singh Sawhney.
While the Congress is trying to regain the chair over which it had control for 15 years, the AAP is trying to retain the power which it got after defeating the Congress. The BJP too is trying very hard to come back to power after not being in power since 1998 in Delhi.
While the AAP is using Kejriwal’s face for the post of Chief Minister, the BJP and Congress are yet to reveal their CM faces. The list of the candidates are expected by mid-January, around the same time the notification of the elections will also be issued.

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh had earlier said that there were a total of 1,46,92,136 voters — 80,55,686 males, 66,35,635 females and 815 belonging to third gender — in the final voters list.
The last date to file nomination is January 21, the scrutiny will happen on January 22 while the last date of withdrawal of candidature will be January 24. The counting of votes will be taken up on February 11.
